National Association on Mental Illness Meetings

GCC is pleased to host various meetings sponsored by the National Association on Mental Illness Lowcountry.

Greater Bluffton Support Group
NAMI Connection is a peer-led recovery support group for people living with mental illness in which people learn from each others’ experiences, share coping strategies, and offer each other encouragement and understanding.

Greater Bluffton Family Support Group
NAMI offers programs for family members and others caring for an individual with a mental illness. All programs are free, supported by our wonderful donors and sponsors. Our support groups are open to all, members and non-members, to provide a safe place for sharing information and support. Registration for support groups is not required. Just show up!

NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program
A free, 12-session educational program, for family, significant others, and friends of people living with mental illness. It is a designated evidenced-based program. Research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to an individual living with a mental health condition. NAMI Family-to-Family is taught by NAMI-trained family members who have been there and includes presentations, discussion, and interactive exercises. NAMI Family-to-Family not only provides critical information and strategies for taking care of the person you love, but you’ll also find out that you’re not alone. Recovery is a journey, and there is hope.
